Bible studies
A lectionary-based adult Bible study meets every Monday at 10:00 a.m. in the library. This study, led by Ken Ray, looks at the upcoming Sunday scripture readings for each week.
Pastor Jean offers a Wednesday night adult Bible study for several weeks each fall. Topics have included “Bad Girls of the Bible”, “The House of David”, “Three Little Books: Ruth, Ecclesiastes, and Song of Songs”, “Praying the Psalms”. Fall 2026 will be “Journeys through Revelation: Apocalyptic Hope for Today”.
Confirmation ministry
This ministry is designed to help prepare young people to affirm their baptismal identity and baptismal vows in the rite of Confirmation. Our program is geared for middle-school age youth (beginning in the sixth or seventh grade) and requires a two-year commitment. During those two years, confirmands will learn more about the Bible and its relevance to their lives, experience life in a supportive Christian community, develop a greater appreciation of what it means to be a Lutheran Christian, and practice living out their faith in everyday life.
First Communion
First Communion workshops are offered as needed for young people (typically in the early to later elementary grades) and their parents/guardians. The three-hour workshop includes baking bread from scratch, a hands-on “taste and see” tour of the communion table, and a video presentation. Each family receives a copy of “A Place for You: My Holy Communion book” by Daniel Erlander.
